X Flight
It's in the water and the testing phase has begun. "For such a radically new design, our initial water tests even exceeded our expectations," commented Gary Ferguson, Advantage's Director of Design/Engineering. "I've been thinking about this hull concept for a long time and I'm even more positive than before that it will revolutionize the family performance boating industry, much like the dramatic introduction of our original Party Cat deckboat nearly twenty years ago."
Although from the waterline, the X-Flight 29 may appear to have a type of air-entrapment hull design, it does not. The pickle-fork bow blends into an advanced stepped-vee bottom aft designed to more efficiently utilize today's modern V-8 single engine stern drive packages and latest propeller technologies. The forward portion of the hull is aerodynamically configured to create lift. That lift makes the hull react and perform like it weighs less thus improving efficiency, reducing fuel consumption and delivering higher top speed. Yet, because it is still a vee-bottom, the boat rides soft, turns responsively and handles rough water like a dream.
"Our goal with the X-Flight 29 was to attain a new level of performance while offering a more passenger-friendly environment to enhance the family boating experience," said Ferguson. "I think we've accomplished our objectives."
The new X-Flight 29 also has a unique interior configuration incorporatiing the practicality and roominess of a deckboat with the style and luxury of a true sportboat. Among the many on-board amenities are full walk-thru bow to stern access plus a spacious enclosed mid-cabin and starboard side boarding door. The X-Flight 29 will also be available with all popular V-8 MerCruiser stern drive packages including selected models of Mercury Racing engines.
